What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

Subaru & LLS Deliver Blankets to Cancer Patients  –  Khiem T

There’s something to be said about southern, small-town hospitality. The team at Nelson Subaru partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for the first time this year in the Subaru Loves To Care program. On July 19, 2019, the two organizations came together to deliver 80 blankets to cancer patients at Ravenel Oncology Center of Sovah Health – Martinsville. An additional part of the initiative were the Messages of Hope, well-wishing sentiments that Subaru encouraged their customers to compose during service and sales visits. Nelson Subaru staff knew how inspiring these cards could be – a token of a stranger’s love imparted onto a deserving recipient. When LLS arrived in the showroom, they were humbly surprised to find out that the smaller retailer team had made an incredible effort to collect well over 80 messages (a benchmark not often set by counterparts in more urban markets). This allowed at least one card to be delivered with every single blanket. One gracious recipient was Michelle Hall. Michelle was in for chemotherapy treatment that morning. She arrived to the center well before the sun came up. When the nursing staff invited her to commemorate the delivery with a photo, she quietly and gently walked over. With the fluids still flowing into her port in the upper corner of her chest, the LLS team offered to unfurl one of the wrapped blankets to keep her comfortable. After the occasion was over, Michelle made her way back to the other side of the dimly-lit room, to nap and continue her treatment. All it takes is a simple gesture, especially in a small, close-knit community. Reece Roberts, Sales Manager, and Judy Hardy, Sales Consultant of Nelson Subaru, know that all too well. Not only did Judy recognize the Onocology Director there at Sovah Health, Michael Compton, as a past part-time Subaru employee, but one of the Messages of Hope that she handed out was actually written by a family friend of the receiving patient.
